The Waimarino Aet Awards is an annual creative showcase that celebrates local and national artistic talent in the Ruapehu District. Originally founded in 1977 and known as the Ohakune Art Awards until 2003, the event is run by the Raetihi Promotions Charitable Trust to give part time local artists a platform to display alongside practitioners from across Aotearoa New Zealand.
