Welcome to The Hobbit Motorlodge, Ohakune accommodation

The Hobbit Motorlodge is a charming, purpose built alpine lodge and motel complex. The Hobbit aims to offer its guests the best accommodation in town. It is the accommodation of first choice for many repeat and discerning guests due to its' quality, spacious rooms and high standards of cleanliness and service.

Ideally located between the Ohakune mainstreet and Junction (winter nightlife area) on the road to the Turoa skifield and 45 mins to Whakapapa it is surrounded by beautiful mature native and exotic trees and offers its guests a quiet alpine retreat.

Our facilities include an outside spa pool amongst the trees, Sky TV and FREE Wireless Internet. For the skiers we have racks in every room, a substantial drying room and the mountain shuttle services can pick you up from our entrance.

Stay two nights in our standard Premium Suite for $305 with transport to the crossing via Dempsey Buses Shuttle Services. Convenient pick-up at The Hobbit and return.

This special applies for two people. Additional person cost $75 (2 nights accommodation and transport.

Summer activities are now happening in the Ruapehu area between now and next ski season. The Hobbit is an ideal base for you or your group looking to participate in any of the following:

- Through 16th June - NZ Army Museum, Waiouru, "Let me be Myself" the life story of Anne Frank

- April 20th - Art in the Park, Hosted by Twin Rivers Gallery, Taumarunui.

- Sunday 21st April - The Raetihi Gut Buster. Road cycle, walk or run the historic Raetihi to Pipiriki road, or just part of it. online entries available at www.rideruapehu.com.

- Saturday 4th May - Above T42 10 year Anniversary. Based around the 42 Traverse, an old logging road that gets its name from the original State Forest 42. the T42 is a cxlassic NZ event that has a variety of walk/run distances as well as the 'whole hog' 48km MTB.
